01 / Overview

What this policy covers

This combined policy explains how SKUVE (“SKUVE”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data, the rules for using SKUVE, and the permissions involved when a merchant connects a Shopify store. It applies to our website, waitlist, communications, pilots, and services that link to this page.

A merchant may have its own privacy notice for shoppers and customers. That notice governs the merchant’s direct relationship with those people; this policy explains SKUVE’s role and practices.

01Minimum necessary access

We request and use only data needed for an enabled feature.

02No sale of personal data

SKUVE does not sell personal data.

03Merchant data stays protected

Confidential Shopify data is not used to train general AI models without explicit permission.

How we use information

  • Provide the waitlist, pilots, product, support, and requested communications.
  • Configure search, discovery, merchandising, and recommendation experiences.
  • Protect accounts, merchants, shoppers, and the service from abuse or security threats.
  • Measure reliability and improve features using aggregated or de-identified information where practical.
  • Meet contractual and legal obligations and enforce these terms.

Legal grounds

Where privacy law requires a legal basis, we rely on consent for optional marketing, steps requested before entering an agreement, performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing SKUVE, and compliance with legal obligations. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Service providers and disclosures

We may share information with vendors acting for us under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection commitments. The current provider categories are:

  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure
  • Email delivery and customer support
  • Security, error monitoring, and operational tooling

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a corporate transaction with appropriate safeguards. We do not permit providers to use the information for their own unrelated purposes.

Retention and security

We keep personal data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, an active pilot or service relationship, security and dispute records, and applicable legal obligations. Waitlist contacts are retained until access is offered, the waitlist is closed, or consent is withdrawn. Data is then deleted or de-identified unless lawful retention is required.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for the nature of the data. No online system is entirely risk-free, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies and similar technology

SKUVE does not intentionally use advertising cookies on this landing experience. Essential hosting, security, or preference technology may still be used to deliver and protect the service.

03 / Shopify data

Permissions follow the feature

A merchant must authorize SKUVE before we can access a Shopify store. The installation or authorization screen identifies the permissions requested. Merchants can revoke access by uninstalling or disconnecting SKUVE.

Current intended scope
  • Store identity and configuration
  • Product catalog, collections, variants, and related metadata
  • App settings and merchant-provided onboarding information
Protected customer dataNot part of the current default scope

Customer data: not enabled
Order data: not enabled

Merchant and shopper responsibilities

The merchant decides why and how its store data is used and must provide appropriate notices to shoppers. When SKUVE processes personal data only on a merchant’s instructions, the merchant is the controller or business and SKUVE acts as its processor or service provider, as those terms are defined by applicable law.

Access revocation and deletion

After access is revoked, SKUVE stops new collection through that integration. Store-linked data is deleted or de-identified under the retention rules above, subject to lawful exceptions. Valid Shopify privacy requests are handled through the required platform process when applicable.

04 / AI processing

How AI is used

SKUVE uses automated systems to interpret shopping context, organize catalog information, and generate search, discovery, recommendation, or merchandising outputs. Results can be incomplete or inaccurate and should be reviewed before decisions that could materially affect people or a business.

SKUVE does not use merchant-confidential information, Shopify customer data, or order data to train general-purpose AI models without explicit written opt-in.

Do not submit sensitive personal data, authentication secrets, payment credentials, or information you are not authorized to process through SKUVE.

05 / Your rights

Access and control

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal data; object to or restrict processing; withdraw consent; and appeal a decision. You may also have a right to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. SKUVE does not discriminate against people for exercising applicable privacy rights.

We may need to verify a request before acting on it. Authorized agents can submit requests where local law permits. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

International processing

SKUVE and its providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use recognized transfer mechanisms and safeguards designed to protect transferred data.

Children

SKUVE is a business product and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the minimum age required by applicable law.

06 / Terms of use

Rules for using SKUVE

Eligibility and authority

You must be legally able to enter an agreement and, when acting for a business, authorized to bind that business. Additional order forms, pilot agreements, or app terms may apply; if they conflict with this page, the more specific signed terms control.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Use SKUVE unlawfully or infringe another person’s rights.
  • Upload data you lack permission or a lawful basis to process.
  • Probe, disrupt, bypass, reverse engineer, or overload the service except where law expressly permits.
  • Use automated output to make prohibited, deceptive, discriminatory, or high-risk decisions about people.
  • Resell or misrepresent SKUVE without written authorization.

Beta features and pilots

Preview, waitlist, beta, and pilot features may change, pause, or be withdrawn. They are provided for evaluation and may contain errors. Do not rely on them as the sole basis for business, financial, legal, safety, or similarly consequential decisions.

Intellectual property and feedback

SKUVE and its licensors retain rights in the product, software, branding, and documentation. You retain rights in content you lawfully provide. You grant SKUVE the limited permission needed to host, process, and transform that content to provide the service. Feedback may be used without restriction or payment, provided it does not identify you or disclose confidential data.

Third-party services

Shopify and other third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies. SKUVE is not responsible for changes, outages, or actions of third-party platforms outside our control.

Availability, warranties, and liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, SKUVE is provided “as is” and “as available”. We disclaim implied warranties that can lawfully be disclaimed. SKUVE is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-profit damages. Any aggregate liability will be limited to the amount paid for SKUVE during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, unless applicable law or signed terms require otherwise.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend access to protect SKUVE, merchants, users, or third parties; respond to legal requirements; address nonpayment; or investigate a material violation. You may stop using the service and disconnect integrations at any time, subject to any signed commercial terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law stated in the applicable order form or pilot agreement, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections and statutory rights remain unaffected.
